London Calling. . .

After merely a week and after receiving a critical trouncing – a dismaying 8% approval on the rotten Rottentomatoes website – London is gone from theaters in New York City.

Should writer-director Hunter Richards’ debut film be declared M.I.A.?

No.

Richards and his powerful cast – including Chris Evans, Jessica Biel, and Jason Statham – issue a call to enlist. It is a call that critics dodge. Critical standards have gone AWOL.

Soon, Ben Kessler and I will respond to London and its entirely unfashionable call to a country at war (with itself) to:

1) contemplate the meaning of “faith”
2) appreciate the way both pain and healing manifest themselves in personal expressions of sexuality
3) righteously kick ass
